Debate café – February 15

Many thanks to everyone for coming to our last week’s debate café and engaging in an informative debate about the US primary elections, democracy and leadership. The motion ran was: TH believes that Party Elites should be solely responsible for nominating presidential candidates in the US.

Would you like to find out more about the presidential elections? If yes, we invite you to attend a mock debate between pro-Bernie vs. pro-Hillary supporters hosted by Democrats Abroad and the Lund Debate Society. The event will be held today (22nd of February) at Folksuniversitet starting at 18.00. For more information visit our Facebook event.

Looking forward to see you tomorrow at Folkuniversitet for our usual Tuesday Debate Café!

New Year, New Stories

Goood Morning everybody – hope you have had a fantastic vacation!

Unfortunately every dream eventually comes to its end, and now seems to be the turn of the holiday season to transfer into weekdays. Through the haze of this cloudy period LDS nevertheless considers itself to be the long-awaited, shiny silver lining, and therefore is happy to announce that we will soon be back in action. Next you will find LDS representatives from International Students Fair (Wednesday the 14th! @ Kårhuset between 11-16 o’clock) and Hälsningsgillet (Friday the 30th @ AfBorgen). The first Debate Café will be held in the beginning of February, more information will be given out via Facebook closer to date.

Till then,, Au Revoir!

Tuesday, Sept. 30

Big thanks for all the participants for an inspiring debate last Tuesday! It is always great to see many new faces and hear talented speakers talk. If you want to prove your debating skills outside of the café’s too, next week we are going to hold the very first Debate Training of this semester! We will introduce the basics of the British Parliament -debating format (find more information here). Feel welcome to join, hope to see you there!
